Demand for Offshore Equipment on the Rise

November 30, 2012

A recent survey has seen an increase in offshore equipment due to the demand that companies have for constantly striving to get the safest equipment possible for the harsh environments that they are working in. Also, companies are constantly seeking to get the newest drilling rigs as they are typically superior.

According to industry analysts, this rise in demand shows no signs of diminishing and in fact is likely to increase as the challenges for deepwater environments can only be met with the latest advancements. This is proving to be a fantastic boon to oil and gas equipment manufacturers.

You will also notice that there are multiple acquisitions going on such as GE’s buy out of Naxys which is a Norway based manufacturer of sub-sea monitoring sensors that also can serve as leak detectors. This comes on the heels of another recent acquisition of that GE did recently of Presens which manufacturers pressure, temperature and flow measurements devices and sensors.

GE as well as other companies within the industry are all reporting gains and this might be a good time to invest within this sector as these companies will continue to make gains in the near future.
